The Shy Supergirl

Hi everyone!
This is my 1st book review on The Shy Supergirl, as the title already tells you. This book is not a 'You have to read it or else you'll go crazy' but it is nevertheless good. It has an interesting backstory, a girl who hates Hindi homework and a SUPERHERO!
If you ask me, this book is perfect for those between the age of 7-9. I found myself wishing it would go on. I feel Mrs. Shabnam Minwalla has done a really good job and the illustrations by  Tanvi Bhat really brighten up the story, even if they're black and white. In this story, the main character, Nina, is just the sort of superhero who you would like to be, and you can tell this is going to be a short, but sweet story.
No, I'm not like those people who go all lah-di-dah over books because they review them.( I'll have you know that the publishers of duckbill have not sent me this. I had it at home) These are my honest opinions. Here's a summary of the book:
Meet Nina, the average 9 year old child you saw everyday. When an adult looked at her, they thought they saw an ordinary, shy child who lived in Venus Towers. This just goes on to prove that grown-ups can be pretty daft.( There's a similar line in the book.) For Nina was anything but ordinary. She had a secret superpower that nobody knew about. Well, almost nobody. Buggy knew. He was her best friend. The summer holidays were starting and they had the whole summer planned out. But when a precious silver owl goes missing, it's up to Buggy and Nina to find the culprit!
Score on the Peanut-Meter (a.k.a PM) : ★★★1/2 out of 5
I hope you liked this review,
Au Revoir,
Peanut

MISSING: A Magnificent SUPER-DOG

Hello, I am so sorry that I haven't been blogging. I'll try to write reviews more often. I am aiming for at least one per week. (So sorry publishers.) Anyways, this book is by Himanjali Sankar. I love it. The story is nteresting and fun with a lot of imagination. This is the second book in the series. Here's the blurb on the back of the book: The Orange Marmaladies are back! This time they have captured the Rousseau, the timetelling superdog, and taken him to Marmaland to find out what makes him tick. The Ghosh family are frantic, but before they know it, matters take a turn for worse. Two happy marmaladies, who had come to Earth to see thier favourite Bollywood star, have been captured and declared terrorists. How will the Ghoshes get Rousseau back? Will he get back in time to save the poor Marmaladies? You probably didn't understand that. So let me explain. (SPOILER ALERT for 1st book) They Orange Marmaladies are the original keepers of time. So when...

Wonder

Hallo everybody,  Here's another book review on the book Wonder. Even before I read the book, I knew it was a big thing. Everyone in my school and class had heard of it. This book was constantly recommended to me by others so I finally went and issued it from my school library. (someone had always borrowed it.) I didn't know what to expect, but I still got it. Wonder is an amazing story which contains the message that one should not judge others by their face. Here's a summary: Wonder is a heart-touching story about a boy named August Pullman, who has been born with facial differences and starts going to school for the first time. It's not easy at all, but with new friends, Auggie might just pull through. This book is written in the disguise of different people in the story, each telling their own side. The different stories by each character really help you understand who did what and why they did it. R.J. Palacio is an amazing author who writes simple words but...

The One and Only Ivan

Bonjour, all! Another day, another review! This is one for The One and Only Ivan, a classic by Katherine Applegate. In this book, a lonely gorilla named Ivan, lives in a cage at a shopping mall. He doesn't even miss the jungle. But then, a baby elephant arrives and changes his life forever. What I really liked about the book was the fact that it was written in a gorilla's own words. As I quote my favourite line from the book "Homework, I have discovered involves a sharp pencil and thick books and long sighs." Katherine Applegate has written a very entertaining book. The story is very heart-touching and I really liked it. Score on the Peanut Meter: ★★★.7 out of 5 Sayanora*, Peanut * I'm kinda-sort of running out of words! Any suggestions??
